Good question. I've had a couple in the past year and the microphone has broken/fallen off on all of them..

Well mine isn't usb. But I use the Senneheiser Pc-150. After my Plantronics .90 broke. They work great awesome sound. I also think that they make usb, too.

Used to be Koss TD61's - sound quality to rival ones of double the price.

Broke. Can't buy them anymore....

So soon to be some Seinheisser 477s... dunno how good those will be.

None are USB... I prefer to use my Creative soundcard to drive the games instead of an offbrand USB sound card.

currently i'm using a yamaha RP-U100 USB audio device and just have my sound card disabled.. ( a cheap soundblaster live one)

the yamaha gives me a lot better quality.. but doesn't have any inputs for a mic.... or I would go for the Sennheiser PC150.. so I figure I need to go with the usb so I dont' have to enable my sound card... off and on..

Sony MDR-V6

HeadWize I posted a message here but I cant seem to find it. Anyways Sony MDR-v6 are very nice cans. If you can look at music shops in your local area and ask to test them out.

Another vote for Sennheiser PC150. Cable is flimsy but sound and mic quality are great for the price. Much better than Plantronic Audio .90. We use them at the cafe.

One more for the Senneheiser Pc-150 club, I use it (non usb). Works well, sound quality is good, never had any complaints.
