Headset Microphone

OMG i need help. I just bought a headset with a microphone, and i've never had one before. So i plugged in the microphone (pink) cable in the pink slot, but there was another (black) cable with the headset for the speakers, which i plugged in another slot which was green. I don't know if that's the issue but it won't work... There were no drivers that came with it and when i turn music on it won't go through my headset but it goes through my speakers... So what do i do so my microphone and headset work??

PLS HELP ME

You are plugging it into the case? Are the wires for the ports plugged into anything?

plug headphones into where the speakers go...

ok the headphones work, but the mic won't work... and its plugged in the right place

Is it muted in sound control panel?

un mute the mic in the speaker settings

Do you have the mic assigned to a different output or something?

Example: It might be assigned to rear output or center/sub if you have 5.1 assignable integrated sound and only 3 jacks

yup volume control.. properties. set to recording. then select mic as input. then unmute it in normal window
