Headset/headphone suggestions

I posted this on the HT - Peripherals board, but no one has responded, and I'm hoping that this crowd might be a little more helpful.

I'm looking for a replacement for my broken Creative Aurvana Live's, and am looking at a pair of Sennheiser PC350's. Coming off of a pair of headphones that have slightly overemphasized bass, I don't know how I would handle headphones that slightly overemphasize the upper end instead. I am definitely not a basshead, but I do enjoy my bass guitars. Further, I have tried the Plantronics .Audio 370, and I hated them (not to mention how flimsy they are).

I had a further question about superficial similarities between the PC350 and the PXC350, and if they sounded similar.
 
This headset is meant for "mobile" gamers. It looks great and supposedly sounds decent (hope at least as good as Aurvana Live). USB option bypasses shitty onboard sound. And it seems that you can detach the mic. I used Sennheiser PC150 in the past and they were ok but the ear cups were way too small, not sure if that has changed with later models.
