Headset for gaming

Any ideas? I heard there are headsets that can be set up to process only teamspeak data, for example, leaving all game sounds to come through the regular speakers.

Is there anything like this for PC?

I do this everyday that I play WoW. You need a USB microphone. Logitech makes some very nice ones. Set up teamspeak to use the USB mic and tell windows to continue using your sound card.

After that works, I set up teamspeak so my right control button is my mic button.. so when I wanna talk, I press right control and talk through the mic. Anyone that replies to me comes over the headset, while all game noises continue coming through my speakers.

Hey Arsenik, what cans? I can't find many monaural options AT ALL and all the ones i do see are expensive (plantronics dsp100 are $80).

Is the game sound muffled due to your binaural headset, assuming that's what you have??

I use Plantronic DSP headphones with mic. It goes over both ears and plugs into one of your usb ports and I believe I can tell what sounds to come from what device. I love them myself

Single earpiece.... why? 😕
I'd recommend the Sennheiser PC-155's, usb, comfortable, noise cancelling. They are

Because he doesn't want to be completely cut off from the outside world. He wants to be able to hear what's going on in his house and because he doesn't want surround sound in his headphones he doesn't need bulky more expensive cans. He also mentioned that a single earpiece is like in the S.E.A.L.S. ( he plays a lot of SOCOM 🙂), they need access to voice communication but also need to be able to hear their environment.

I just remove 1 side if I need to hear anything in the house... really not too difficult.

But is that really comfortable on the side you remove the cushioning from?

To be quite honest when you're gaming or doing whatever... you don't even realize it. The Sennheisers are really, really comfortable. Nice and cushiony. I love them

Pretty much any USB headset will work in this fashion. Windows sees the USB set as a separate output for sound so you will be able to select it to just deliver voice. My friend uses a Logitech set which work great. I would get the separate ear piece design cause it will be easier to work with and you only need voice coming through one ear anyway.
