This item sells out all the time. Adorama has been out of them for at least a month, and still says 4-6 weeks. Ugh.

Anyway, this might be a hot deal if you want it. 8% BCB.

And like 996GT2 is saying, these are going for $600 on POTN USED, if you can get your hands on the seller before someone else does. So at $541 with BCB, this is a steal.

I don't know how...but I'm resisting. Perhaps its because I know the guilt I would feel afterwards working 12 hour days to save up for a wedding...::sigh::

In reality though I've tried it and I can't justify the cost right now. Sure its much wider than my 17-55mm but I go so much I can get better at without another lens. At least that's what I'm telling myself.

DO IT. I just bought one after my 17-55 IS. Ok I'm having major buyer's remorse now. Maybe a 50/1.4 or 85/1.8 would've suited me better.

It is useless to resist.

so i take it this is a good wide angle lens?

This is just about the best ultrawide lens there is for APS-C cameras. It compares very favorably against the canon 10-22mm or Nikon 10-24mm in sharpness, and it's actually sharper in the corners than both of the original manufacturers' lenses. Not to mention it's also a stop faster at f/2.8.

Thanks for the heads up DLeRium! I was hot on the trail of this lens for a while after being sorely disappointed with my Sigma 10-20. But I recently gave up my search for the Tokina because Im about to drop a lot of cash on my basement reno. Almost didnt pull the trigger on this lens. But seeing as how I can sell this lens for atleast as much as I bought it for, i couldnt pass up on this deal.
Sweet deal too. B&H sells it for $599.99. This deal will get me the lens for $525 after all the rebates - 8% bing, 2% ebay bucks, 1% from my Costco AMEX (ok fine, ebay bucks is not a real cash back, but w/e). Never heard of cameraland, but they have flawless rating. Hope I don't get burned

Thanks for making me feel better about the Sigma 10-20. I originally wanted that as a cheapo entry into UWAs. Canon's 10-22 is nice but completely out of my budget at $700+. Then the Sigma 10-20/3.5 seemed to be a good compromise with focal length and speed.

But I did rent the Tokina 11-16 before and I found it to be insanely nice. Given I can resell this and make money (assuming I really don't want it due to financial reasons), I figured I would just jump on this now. Had some buyers remorse because I'm thinking primes might do me a little more use, but at least I know that I made the right UWA choice :D

I doubt I'll ever like a lens more. I've had it for Canon and Nikon and it snaps necks and cashes checks.
