Not trying to tout my own horn, but I thought that this deal could be good for DCers looking to upgrade their rigs too. Yes, Microcenter (in-store ONLY) has better prices, but this is possibly the best online price that I've seen for this CPU.
Haswell refresh is coming up pretty soon now, that might be why they are discounting them. Haswell refresh is essentially just Haswell, with a multiplier bump or two.
There are going to be new Z97 motherboards out soon too. The big deal with those is, they will accept Broadwell-K CPUs, which are going to be 14nm desktop CPUs with an unlocked multiplier. Same architecture as Haswell though.
