Many people are now looking at upgrading their vid card for one big upcoming game, Oblivion. Not only is it a good idea to wait until the title your aiming for is released before buying a new card since price/performance ratios are always growing, but there is another thing to consider. Many retail vid cards will be shipping with Oblivion as the bundled add-in come Spetemberish, just around the official release date for the game. Not only could you likely get a 7900GT or a X1900XL type card for around $300, but may likely save another $50-$60 based on the fact you would not have to buy the main game your getting the card for in the first place.

Pricing is a guess, but the fact Oblivion will be shipping with many mid priced cards is a fact.

Just to be nitpicky, price/performance ratios tend to shrink. Performance/price ratios on the other hand, are always growing.

Septemberish is not the release time frame for Oblivion, although some cards sold in September will likely be bundled with Oblivion. But the game will be released between now and the end of March.

And you know this how? How many times has the game been delayed so far? I lost count already...

Do you know for sure that the game will be bundled with video cards or are you just assuming this will be the case?

March 24th was announced as the official release date I think sometime in January.

Well since they've finally released the system requirements its pretty likely we'll see the game soon.

But you're right, you can't count on anything until the game can actually be purchased. Everything else should be assumed a lie until proven otherwise.
