I have gone through like 5 sets of headphones in the past year...they haven't really been great quality but still.

I wanted to get a good pair of noise canceling ear buds but I don't want to spend enormous amounts of money for one (probably looking for one around $50 to spend). Any advice on good ones to get?

I also keep tearing the base of the headphone that connects to my ipod...not sure if I am just bad at taking care of it or they were just cheap headphones. Not sure what else to do about that.

Thanks for helping :)

What you want are some noise-isolating headphones. In Ear Monitors, for example.

Sennheiser CX300 or CX500? Westone UM1? Ultimate Ears Super.fi 3? Audi-Technica CK7?

The e2cs are very overrated. They're big and uncomfortable and IMO lack punch in the low end. Shure has a newer line of phones that are much better.
