headphones suggestions needed

i'm buying my friend a birthday gift and one thing he really wanted was headphone with dual volume control (individual volume controls for each ear). he's partially deaf in one ear and so he likes to turn the volume way up in that ear and adjust the other one so that they sound at equal volume levels. that way it feels like he has normal hearing. he can't use earbuds or anything of a similar style due to some problems he has with his ear (that's why he's partially deaf as well).

size doesn't really matter, and i'd look to be spending up to $125 or so. noise-cancelling earphones would be nice, but i'm open to buying any style (open, closed, whatever).

google searches have only turned up some coby headphones, which from my previous experience have turned out to be crap. most sites don't seem to list if headphones have dual volume controls... so i need suggestions. any and all suggestions are welcome. thanks in advance!

my roommate has some radioshack branded headphones that have a volume dial on each ear. i dont kno of any real quality headphones that have a dual vol control tho.
