headphones: sennheiser hd580 or hd590?

I had 580 for 3 months...so I can speak with experience.
It's really good for classical music and some jazz....but for rock or pop music, I am afraid that it isn't the best headphone for it. I had it paired with Meta 42.....contrary to what many people have said, I didn't feel the kind of improvement that many people praised about. So in the end, I sold my equipments....that's the end of story.

I somehow like to have bass and high (especially in rock and heavy metal) a bit agitated....and HD 580 failed to do that.
 
The 580's use the drivers from the 600's. The 590's use their new bionetic design or whatever. Not as good basically. My vote for the 580's. I've never heard the 600's nor 590's though. I have the 570's, but later I heard the 580's and they are noticably better in comparison...looking for a good reason to buy them now.
