I just got a pair of sennheiser hd280 Pro's and these are the first headphones I have ever had for a PC. I also have an audigy 2 zs. I currently have the speakers hooked up, but for some reason no matter where I plug the headphones in I don't get any sound. The volume is turned up, but still nothing. I am a total noob when it comes to headphones. Do I have to change a setting somewhere to "point" to the headphones...which jack exactly should I plug them into? Any help would be appreciated.

Software control panel on your Audigy. Change to headphones as your speaker setup.

Ok, I got them working but I had to unplug my speakers for it to work. Is there any way to configure the audigy 2 zs so I can keep both plugged in and turn either one on depending on what I want to use. In other words I don't want to have to plug and unplug them every time I want to switch. Thanks again for any help.

If you can find the 5 1/4" drive bay i/o panel (comes with the platinum edition of that card, though the card itself is the same) for sale seperately that'll work, it automatically switches when you plug in your headphones. Do your speakers have a headphone jack? You could also try the $25 Chaintech av710, an audiophile card that's as good for music as the audigy is for gaming. On top of having a seperate headphone jack, you'll have superior musical sound quality to make the most of the 280s.
