headphones dont work in my labtop

My headphones was works pefectly but when i but it in my labtop there is no sound .its default device already. It was working good yesterday but it dont work today in my labtop , my labtop is hp elitebook 8440p . How i can fix this ? Please i cant use it without headphones , and sorry for bad english .
 
Pull up the audio icon in the task bar, and look at all audio sources. Make sure nothing is muted.
