are the Sennheiser 497's a comfortable headphone? they look comfy, its just unless i put a towel or something underneath my current headphones they get heavy and hurt. and towels look stupid 😉 but overall they sound, OK, not the best.

check out the beyer DT880s if you have the $$$$. arguably the most comfy pads of all headphones 😀. butr seriously. the hd497 are okay, i used to own them. they do get hot after a little, but all headphones do that. the headband if i recall has less pressure on the head than the sr80s. 🙁 ouch.

I got a pair of these for Christmas from my dad. They are incredible. They block out virtually all external noise, they are VERY comfortable, and the range is amazing. I am hearing things in my movies and music I have never heard before. I got the ER4P, which is the top of the line... If you have the money, this is it...

Etymotic earbuds

i used to own ety er4p with the s converter. they sound very very very good. only problem is lots of people complain about not being able to hear outside/comfort/convenience/microphonics. otherwise they sound EXCELLENT.
