Headphones and SB Live 5.1 Platinum

Does anyone know how to setup the Live 5.1 Platinum with the Live Drive II so I can use headphones for DVD's? The headphone jack works fine with MP3's and other audio, but doesn't do jack crap when the headphones are plugged in and a DVD is running. I've got the Audio cable and SPDIF cable running from the DVD drive to the soundcard. I'm using the DVD player that came with my Hollywood Plus card and have tried all the sound settings and checked that no inputs are muted.

Hi,

If you have SPDIF plugged into to your sound card and you are playing a DVD (I'm speculating) then the output is probably Dolby Digital 5.1, which needs a decoder to get the sound stream. Headphones can't decode DD5.1, so that is probably why you aren't getting any sound. I find it unlikely that the SB Live! would output both DD5.1 and stereo sound at the same time. Try unplugging the SPDIF and setting your player settings to output Stereo/Dolby Surround only, that might work.
