Headphone sound problem (Antec 300 case)

I'm having trouble with the front headphone ports on my Antec 300 case.

When I plug the headphones in, the sound is very choppy. When I open the sound control panel, the headphone option is basically flashing in & out, like it has a bad connection or something. I checked the connection on the motherboard and it seems find.

What can I do here? I'm lost!

I'm leaning toward a flaky mini-jack on the case. Probably the connection between the internal cable and the jack doesn't have proper connection.

I get static more from my front port than my onboard ports, so I pulled out my old SB Audigy Gamer sound card, installed it, NO static 🙂
