I've recently purchased a set of headphones to use while I'm at work. I've tried changing numerous settings in the control panel, but I can't get that jack to send sound to the headphones!!

It's a reletively new IBM Netvista Desktop.

Thanks for any tips...

You need to disable digital audio in both the CD properties control panel and in Media Player. Here are some instructions-
http://support.ap.dell.com/ap/en/kb/document.asp?DN=FA1049871
http://support.packardbell-europe.com/scripts/rdr.asp?page=/support/faq/article/art03367.asp&menu=FAQ&cat=Windows&lang=1&c=ap%20headphone%20jack%20on%20cd-rom%20drive%20not%20work
If you want to use the CD drive jacks without having to go back and forth with the digital audio settings, connect your CD drive analog output with a cable to your motherboard or soundcard analog audio input.
