Is it possible to run an XP Home machine as a headless (no mouse, no keyboard, no monitor) server?
I would install a linux distro but some of my hardware isn't supported by linux.

Sure if you install VNC or similar.
You'l probably need to set the bios not to halt on errors (like not detecting a keyboard etc).
I take it this for for a small home workgroup setup?

Shouldn't be a problem then.
I run a similar setup myself with an old 2000 Pro box and VNC.
Works just fine.

True. I had to reread the OP. You can use mstsc.exe to connect to another machine, but you cannot connect to it remotely.

No, however you can upgrade from Windows XP Home Edition to Windows XP Professional to get Remote Desktop. You can use Windows XP Home Edition as the client for accessing your Windows XP Professional
