Heading to Virginia Beach area in a couple hours...

We were going to spend the day tomorrow kayaking, but looked at Marine forecast (chest high waves) and wife doesn't want to break another leg. So, the kayaks are being left behind. Any recommended outdoor activities (i.e. like kayaking or something) to do in the area? Or, any recommended kayaking places in the area where she won't break her leg going through the surf, and I won't snap a paddle heading in to rescue her?

p.s. last weekend was our anniversary, this weekend is her birthday, next weekend is my birthday, but we're not going away for those reasons... it's a business trip to purchase 2 more goats
