I sit in front of the computer for most of the day and I find that I get headaches after a few hours of work. I thought it might be related to the fact that I have a high prescription for my glasses, but my headaches dont occur everyday. I pop a few tylenols but it doesnt seem to help.

I'm going to switch to my previous pair of glasses for computer use and see if it helps, but does anyone else experience frequent headaches when using the computer for extended periods of time? If so, then how do you deal with it?

You have cancer. I'm not a doctor, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. Go see a doctor.

you should take breaks and focus on objects far away from you. too much focusing on something close like your monitor can cause eye strain.

Might be your posture, i know when i sit wrong my neck muscles start to tighten up and give me the worst headaches.. Look at how you sit and make sure you have the right support!

I get them as well, sometimes they last for hours and even days at a time. I was prescribed Maxalt MLT for the headaches and damn does it work. As it should for $20 a pill. However I've found that regulating my caffeine intake, getting up for frequent breaks and watching what I eat helps. Usually there is a trigger to a headache/migraine. For me its white cheeses

If you're using a CRT monitor, is it at least at 75Hz, preferably 85Hz (refresh rate)?

Also, it could be posture related. For me it turned out to be impacted wisdom teeth a few years ago. If you haven't had yours out yet, get an x-ray done of them (it should be cheap or covered).

Drinking enough water? Even though you don't move you still need to drink.

Do you have someone answering phones next to you? "Corporate accounts payable, Nina speaking.. just a moment..."
