I am not sure what you mean by that comment. Maybe self-ignorance.

On topic, he will be charged, tried in court and convicted with plenty of time at Leavenworth to think about his actions. There is no room anywhere and especially in the military for such conduct.

My guess is he has a serious alcohol problem which added to his downfall. He does not look well in that picture.

I would laugh except it's so sad. But he got what he wanted and didn't know he wanted but quick:

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel later spoke to Air Force Secretary Michael Donley about the incident, expressing "outrage and disgust over the troubling allegations" and emphasizing "that this matter will be dealt with swiftly and decisively," Pentagon spokesman George Little said.

Wonderful! The way you treat self-hate is with condemnation. And they wonder why they can't find a cure when the answer is staring them in the face.

It's the same story with soldier suicide and the rates, they will never look in the right place because that condemning pointy finger would have to be turned in.
