Will they ever be able to record your dreams... like during rem sleep? Maybe you could have a usb 3.0 jack in back of your head. And maybe you could load up somone elses dreams just for fun.

And when will they have phone implants available for your head? I predict within 10 years, and Finland, of course will be the first country to use them. All you'll need to do is think of the person you want to call, and soon people will be staring at you as you appear to be talking to yourself. Actually, people do that to me right now :D

Sort of gives a whole new meaning to "Back Orifice", doesn't it?

Besides, I'd never, ever put a USB port in my head.. USB is way too flaky. However, imagining some form of 802.11 connection, where this has possibilities.. like walking into a room full of people and automatically exchanging contact lists, downloading and sharing stored music, talking with one person while sending private email to another..

Read The Diamond Age by Neal Stephenson .. there's lots of stuff in there about "mods"... Skull gun etc .. it's a really good book and all sort of theoretically possible and stuff. Neal Stephenson is an amazing sci-fi writer, check out snowcrash while you're at it too, if you already haven't.

The phone thing doesn't have to actually put the hardcode in your head. They could give you a little implanted ear bud or something and a mic in your jaw/tooth/cheek or something, yet have the dialer and whatever else as something you wear on a wrist watch or synch to your PDA.
We don't understand the brain enough to make thought controlled devices.. or at least as far as I know.
