- He cuts out SO MUCH bullshit. To put it into context, the Jefferson Bible (AKA "The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth") is ~31,000 words while the King James Version is ~783,000 words.

Jefferson and Adams both were not fans of all the mumbo jumbo and hype men in the bible and just looking for what the fuck Jesus said. Trimmed a lot of fat off that hog.

Edit: Just checked my copy. You get to the Sermon on the Mount in 6 pages.
Yep. It's supposed to be about the "good news".

Going to really depend on which Lutheran church. ELCA is much more open than then Missouri Synod for example. I was actually excommunicated from a Missouri Synod church as a teen for considering joining a Masonic youth org my friends were in. Our "pastor" considered Masons tools of the devil.

Hopefully they gave you a little certificate you could hang on the wall.

I brought up the Jefferson Bible when the Southern Baptist minister who had previously owned my first house came by to drop off something and couldn't help but proselytize at me. He hemmed and hawed about how he thought it was dangerous to get into interpreting the Bible like that. I was thinking "My guy, you're a Southern. Baptist. Pretty sure that was based on different Biblical interpretation from the other Baptists."

but her emails … got to keep the embers of hate a flowing and the more passages the better for that … 2023 and we still referencing 2000 year old multi-translated/edited/paraphrased Iron Age (Old Testament) Roman Conquests (New Testament) nonsense. Shakes head.

They represent alot, and Catholics too. Catholics supporting Trump is the most hypocritical shit i've seen in my personal life.

The Pope agrees:

- There needs to be a fundamental understanding among the faithful that the first amendment of the constitution does not only protect our society/civilization/individuals from religion, it protects religion from the state.

Once you start breaking down the barriers between state and religion, two organs which govern the physical and the spiritual respectively and with mutual exclusion, you elevate neither and corrupt both.

Indeed, but one needs also the psychological understanding of human psychology that creates a barrier to such understanding at least in my opinion. That is not welcome also in my opinion.

Conservatives are motivated by fear more than liberals are. That fear is fear for the self gratification they derive from ego identification. Nothing so fine for the ego as to be on God's side which via rationalization always turns out to be exactly what the ego wishes too by some strange coincidence.
