After getting screwed last week at CC with GOW, I was happy when I snagged a copy of timeshift earlier this week. Not so lucky with COD thoug: but stopped back in today while on my way to ToyRus for SMG. Today they had one copy of COD on the rack and while checking out I noticed that they also have copies of most video game new releases behind the cashier area. Spotted on said counter was 2 stacks of Crysis, which I can happily report became mine for $39 along with a $10 giftcard. Gaming looking good for next weeks holiday. :D

Grats man! I was thinking of dropping by my local crack dealer, errm, game emporium on the way home to see if they had it yet. I still need to get COD4 too...

I've already picked up GoW and I'm getting CoD4 and probably Crysis, is Timeshift worth getting also?

Ya, on one hand I'm hating CC cause their inventory system sucks for new releases but ever since the Halo/Shadowrun deal they've had the most consistent PC deals this year.

I started another topic on that, but my short version is play the demo, if you like the time manipulation aspect of it you'll probably find it a a pretty fun FPS.

Techgamer, Timeshift is absolutely not worth it. It's very repetitive and boring. You run around and shoot a bunch of guys in a room through the whole game. The time control gets very stupid and monotonous. The ending is very very lame. The story is very .... not there. So yeah, Timeshift is a waste of time and money. Unless you really like going through room after room of 20-30 people just being pissed cuz you have to find cover every two seconds because like 6 guys are shooting you in the face.

I'm really liking Crysis. It runs so-so on my machine (15-25 FPS) on low resolution with medium settings. I love how open-ended the gameplay is; right now my mission is to sneak - or rather, get - into a base (you're just suggested to sneak). Hell, I could throw grenades at everything in sight, throw smoke grenades and punch people to death in the confusion, and generally run 'n' gun. But my style is more to get handshots/tranquilize people with one quick shot while cloaked, sneak by, then blow something up in the middle of a lot of people (a car, for example). It's really quite satisfying. The environment is beautiful too; lots of waterfalls, rivers flowing to the ocean below a mountain view, foliage as far as the eye can see. And I love the way foliage works. It moves with you, so it both hides and betrays you. Crawling through bushes while enemies are looking for you will only hint at your location, but if they aren't actively searching, you can move within 2 feet of them unnoticed. I can't wait to get an 8800GT and crank things up!

I haven't even bothered with crysis yet. It would probably play ok on my 7900sli rig, I'll wait until the 8800gt's are back into their projected price range and try after I upgrade.
