I'm a nurse. (a straight guy nurse you pervs), and the state that allowed my to keep my license for 19 years changed the rules last month & said I had to be registered in the state I practiced in, rather than my home state.
So far, I'm 4+ weeks into my local state application process that should have taken 2 weeks.
They stopped my application because I couldn't remember the name of the examination I took 19 freaking years ago, caused a delay of 1 week-fixed that by a call to my original license issuing state.
They sent me a letter this week stating I checked a box triggering an investigation & that it would take an additional 6 months to process my application. I call them up & determine the form letter was incorrect & what triggered the lengthy review was a BS arrest & charges that were dismissed 6 years ago.
I dig through the bylaws & figure out that an arrest doesn't mean jack sh1t, and that a conviction was the only thing to trigger a possible 6 month review.
Called them up, reminded them of their own damn rules and they caved.
Finally...
