Decided not to make multiple posts about this, but I have a few questions about hdtv since me and the wife decided we will probably get one.

Question 1: Is the price break from buying online worth it in terms or getting a defective item. (Ex. If I buy from Best Buy versus Amazon, and if it breaks, I assume you take it back to BB or they come to your home. What options are there for online purchases? Just shipping it back? And if so, is the hassle in being reimbursed for shipping worth it?)

Question 2: Is there a certain % price break comparing online retailers to B&M stores (Circuit City, Costco, etc.)

Samsung has in-home service of their DLP sets, you don't have to take them back anywhere.

Other types of set and other brands will have different policies, so it might help to decide what you're going to buy.

No, it varies wildly depending on what deals stores and online stores are offering, and again by brand and model.

Samsung 1080p DLP sets in the 50-61" range have had some excellent deals at Amazon and OneCall.com recently, but they might be gone this week and back the next.

Hey Ross, thanks for the coupon. We went there last night and talked to a girl there who was, surprisingly, quite knowledgeable and not pushy. I think we decided on an LCD since their warranty wouldn't cover burn-in on plasma. I think we are looking at between 37"-50". Not sure if that helps, but I'm leaning more towards the 42"/50". We are members of Sams, but not Costco. No Fry's or Micro Center either.

Just get it from onecall, get the warranty.

You're all set.

Also, re-evaluate your size of the TV. 42/50" is pretty small to take advantage of HD.
