HDTV wall mount question

My old 40" lcd tv went out and I purchased a new 46"

I purchased a wall mount for the old 40" that supports up to a 40" screen and up to 70lbs. The mounting holes in the 46" are in the same location as in the 40", and the 46" only weighs about 35lbs.

Do you think this wall mount will be ok to use on the new 46" tv?

Thanks in advance

Certainly. You are saying that it fits, and the important thing is weight and it is well under the 70 lbs--though of course just because it says that, it won't fail at 71. I am sure most tv mounts could handle much more than they claim as a liberal safety zone.
