Ok from what I have been made to understand if a tv's refresh rate is 60 and your player is playing at 59 that may cause a small picture distoratation. I have a slit jittering effect when I play .mkv blueray files onto my hdtv. Now if I stream the video to either of my monitors it works fine but as soon as I drag it onto the hdtv I start getting the jittering effect.
From what I have been made to understand if a tv's refresh rate is 60 then you can stream a video to it that has either 60 or 30 without issues to the picture quality. 59 and 29 worth the same togeather.
My problem comes into play with nvidia control panel. If i go to change my refresh rate under my hdtv option (Go to nvidia control panel -- display -- change resolution -- choose hdtv) from 59 to 60 it wont stay. after i hit accept it goes right back to 59. I even tried to change it under control panel display and the same thing happens. It lets me choose it. It lets me hit accept but then it changes it right back. Its like taunting me lol
Recap (short story)
1. I try to refresh rate under nvidia control panel for my hdtv. I change it from 59 to 60 hit accept and it goes right back to 59.
2. My question is how do I get it to stay at 60 to match my tv.
Misc information
1. TV---Hitachi 57f510
2. Video card -- NVidia gtx 280 (tri-sli)
3. It is hooked up via component cable.
Thanks in advance for all your help.
I apologies about the spelling and grammer errors lol. Its sad lol I am 27 and still cant use verbs nouns and so on
