I once saw an HDTV clip of Leno and was fascinated, but have yet to get a chance to do so on my pc...

I basically want to test drive it out to see if I should spend(flagrantly I might add;):D) my money on an HDTV tuner card...

For some reason the Internet has not provided me witj clips and I was hoping someone would oblige me.

Anyone?

I read in one of the reviews somewhere that you'll be hard-pressed to find videos because the recordings of HDTV are encrypted to each indivdual HDTV tuner card for 'security'.

I know that they are on "access DTV" cards, but the lot of 'em surely includes others such as the HiPix

I wouldn't mind watermarks or anything...I just want a movie trailer...a commercial..anything to test...

I checked google and no luck...all i found were really small compresed quicktime vids....thumbnail size basically:(

The files would be incredibly LARGE.
think about this...

A DVD is 480p (480 lines + progressive scan)

Most HD content is 1080I (incredibly high resolution (1920 x 1080 when in 16:9 widescreen) interlaced
and I know my local ABC channel is broadcast in 720P (Better than DVD quality)
At the very least, you should be able to receive 480P (DVD Quality)

If you do invest in a HD card, make sure your monitor is a GOOD MONITOR (1600 x 1200 at 85Hz is what I use on my Samsung 900NF.....;)) and not some low res 1024 x 768 thing that won't display HD content to its full potential
and get a good antenna! i cant stress that enough
read up at the HD forums over at www.avsforum.com
i'm rambling now
ok
bye
yeah
thanks for reading
that's it now
'later

Where do you live? I have a HD Tuner card in my PC, I send the output to my DLP digital projector on an 8 foot screen. It is a Telemann HiPix card, it was $400 when I bought it a year ago. Come over and check it out.

The best investment if you watch more than 3 hours of primetime network TV.
