Hi,

does anyone has some new info's on HDTV PCI TV tuner cards ?

Pansonic had one once in development, but canceled the project late 1999. I didn't see any official product annoucements from NVDIA or ATI either. ATI is workling on a chipset, but that's all I know.

I have a 21" Mitsubishi Diamond Pro Monitor that would make a good HDTV monitor and I don't want to invest $4 -$5k in a HDTV monitor just yet. A $200-400 PCI HDTV tuner card would be the perfect entry into HDTV for me.

BTW: I am drooling for Monday Night Football in HDTV (with Sound turned off and Radio turned on!)

I did a little more research from the link you gave me and found 2 more HDTV PC TV tuner cards:

1) TerraCast? DTV-2060 HDTV receiver (labeled as OEM version only!) from www.broadlogic.com
Excerpts from the Press release: "Capable of receiving both NTSC analog TV and ATSC digital TV signals, the TerraCast DTV-2060 includes a 125-channel, cable ready tuner and supports all 18 ATSC video formats utilizing software MPEG-2 and Dolby Digital(AC-3) decoding. An easy-to-use interface integrates a scaleable viewing window, channel guide and DVD player.

"Many consumer's first HDTV may just be a PC," said Philippe Cassereau, vice president of BroadLogic's digital TV products group. "The fact that we delivered much of the product's capability via software will allow PC manufacturers to add HDTV capability to their products with less than a $150 incremental cost to their customers." 2) Hauppaugepdf file

Retail availability and price for both products are unknown
