Does it? Or will you always have that urgency and need to try the next new movie on it?

Are you talking about pr0n? If so, yes.

i heard HD isn't kind to most porn. Human skin is somewhat smoother at lower res.
I really wouldn't know....I was just making a joke.

I don't even have HDTV and I watch PBS.

Not really for me. Every time I get a new game for my 360 I'm glad I have the nice TV.

it's sorta like having a tivo or homebrew pvr...

the novelty eventually wears off, but only because it's become so ingrained in your lifestyle that you can't imagine life without it.

I was at my parents' house last week watching TV (dogsitting). I tried to pause the television so I could run to the bathroom and I got really pissed off when I couldn't ;)

I wouldn't say it's exactly "novel" anymore, but, I do anticipate new movies and games on my HDTV. Now, watching actual HD content (transport streams) on my tv through my HTPC IS novel, right now :D

Hasn't worn off for me yet. I'm still in awe when I fire up my Infocus 4805 and watch a sporting event in "HD" (it's not true HD resolution) or a movie in 480p

I'm not even a soccer fan and watched almost every World Cup game on it.

I've had it for 3 years now and I still love every second of it. Especially sports - simply amazing. DiscoveryHD looks absurdly good, too.

I just wouldn't call it a novelty to begin with as it's simply an evolution of the technology, much like a new Core 2 Duo is compared to a 386...same idea, just a much much better implementation. And I still find myself sitting here sometimes thinking "damn that's gorgeous...thank goodness for HD", even though I've been around HD sets for years now.

The novelty wore out about two weeks after I got mine.

Now I TIVO everything again in 480i and never watch the HD program because I'd have to deal with the commercials.

QFT. Had it for 2 1/2 years myself, and I'm always amazed by well-done HD broadcasts. I still occassionally watch things just because it's in HD.

Had it for almost 5 years now.

It never wears off. It's just so dang pretty. And sports...mmmm the sports in DD 5.1.

Did I mention HD gaming? mmmm....HD gaming.

It's not just the resolution. It's the unbeliable color that I notice the most.

Same here pretty much. Part of it is probably that I only do OTA so the selection is quite a bit more limited during the summer. I still do enjoy HDTV and wouldn't go back, but I suppose it doesn't amaze me the way it once did.

My HDTV is in a basement at the moment, so an antenna won't work, and all we get over sattelite is SD stuff. I won't be able to watch anthing in HD until I move next week, I guess.

This is the reason it will be awhile before I ever get one. I rarely watch TV as it is. Sure it would look cool to see the Discovery channel and stuff in HD, but if I never watched the show before, it's not like I'm going to suddenly become interested just because the resolution is higher.

I'll probably wait until HD-DVD/blu-ray become mainstream and then bite. I do watch enough movies that having HD would be worth it.
