Was thinking of upgrading from my 19" Viewsonic VP930 & nVidia 6200 TC to a larger LCD and video card with more horsepower.
Here's one potential upgrade combination:
LCD - LG 22" L226WTY-BF (HDCP ok) [~$349 at Newegg]
Video Card - GigaByte GeForce 8600GTS 256 MB (HDCP ok) Silent Pipe III [~$180 at Newegg]
Have gotten out of touch with the latest LCD, video card, and HDTV info, so your advice is welcome. From what I understand, to do 1080p you need a monitor that can do 1920x1200, so that 22" monitor from LG is out. Maybe I can do 720p with it?
Feel free to spec out alternate LCD's and video cards, though I'd prefer passively cooled as I value a silent case for mulitmedia over high end performance (don't play any games, though I might play a little retro gaming here and there).
