The hdmi port is on video 6. If the tv is turned off or the video source is switched the tv loses the signal from the htpc. Switching the source back to video 6 just brings a blank screen. I would then have to manually put the htpc into standby via the power button and press it once more to reset the signal. I usually leave the htpc on all the time because I'm always copying stuff to it from my main pc in my room so it's becoming a real pain when I have to make it go into standby and bring it back on every time I want to watch something.
Is this an issue with the dvi cable or a setting within windows? I have notice that if the dvi cable on my main pc becomes loose it'll lose the signal and I would have to restart my machine to bring back the video signal. Is this similar to what is happening with the htpc?
