HDTV for this noob !!!!!!!?

you need a tuner and if you don't have HDTV cable / satellite service you will need an antenna

I use the dvico fusion5 lite which is great for the price because it has QAM decoding which allows you to watch digital cable channels

You will not be able to watch full resolution HD television with that monitor.

well i guess hdtv is out of the wuestion then what about a nice tv tuner ? i want to be able to watch tv and record on my lcd monitor

any suggestions ?

first of all that is not an HDTV, it is an LCD Monitor with a 16:9 viewing ratio and max resolution of 1680x1050.
Its actually 16:10,

HDTV brocasts are 1080i and 720p, but a HD display is anything with at least 720 lines of vertical resolution in progressive scan or 1080 or better lines interlaced, in widescreen aspect ratio. so the LCD he listed is well within the standards of an HD display.
