HDTV for laptops

I've noticed that TV tuner cards resample TV video before being sent to display, and this affects image quality. Do we have any ideas what next generation tuner cards will bring, and are there any comments on resampling quality?

My main reason for asking was whether I should wait to get a ThinkPad T43p (with ExpressCard compatability) or the ThinkPad T42p.

ooh damn when's the t43p coming out? I'm gonna be starting work in june and they'll be providing an IBM laptop. Maybe i'll get the chance to pick which lappie I want . A t43p would be wicked cool.

Unless your company don't have an IT budget, I doubt you will get a T43 straight out of the gate.

I know but I can always hope . I'm not even sure about the process of getting a laptop. realistically they'll probably just give me the same lappie which they give all the employees. which isn't that bad actually. I think they have T40-42
