I'm not sure if this is been asked before, but I couldn't find a thread on it - hopefully its not a repost :)

I finally dove in and bought a HDTV - 46" sharp LCD, it came with a blu-ray upconverting player.

What "essential" hardware should I look at getting, I didnt get ANYTHING from the store, I knew I could get the cables online cheaper. So, to hook up my Wii and new blu-ray DVD player, what cables would be best?

Also, i'd like to eventually wall mount it. Any recommendations on a good wall mount? Are they easy to install?

Thanks!

You can probably snag everything you'll need from monoprice.

ZIP TIES!

1. I prefer Velcro ties
2. A must ----> picture quality calibrator disc (monster isf dvd comes to mind)
3. a reliable power protection/surge/conditioner to plug in everything
4. microfiber wipe(s) for the LCD surface???
5. profit!!

Note: DOC eyeglass cleaner works very well on LCD's.

As for Zip ties vs. Velcro...really a matter of preference, I like the solid hold of a zip tie better though. Some may appreciate the reusability of velcro.

Thanks for the input all - I'll definately look into a picture calibrator disc - maybe the blu ray player comes with one?
I've already got a good APC surge protector on it, so thats taken care of
Instead of zip ties, i put all the wires in split loom, makes it look real nice :)
I do need to get wipes for the surface, i use windex on my current crappy TV heh

Windex may destroy the coating of an LCD screen.

The BD player will not come with one. You will need to purchase one separately.
