I have a Samsung 700p Plus monitor that has BNC connections on the back (in addition to the normal input). Is there a connector that will allow me to watch High Definition signals from a tuner on this screen? Also what about composite video from a DVD player?

Modern monitors do not support composite video, many don even support the old sync on green standard. You will need a TV tuner card to convert the signal. Don?t expect the image to as good as a standard TV. Computer monitors make terrible TV?s and TV?s make terrible computer monitors.

That's was kinda what I was thinking. I just saw the 5 BNC connectors on the back and thought:

'hmm, my screen will do 1080i.....won't it?"

The BNC connectors on the back of your monitor are composite, your DVD player outputs component. they arnt the same.. I have no idea if they sell some kind of adapter switch or something :/ a regular VGA connector uses composite (plus extra wires used to communicate between your monitor and your computer). Im guessing they use BNC because the quality of the wires is better. I may be wrong but this is what ive learned anyway.
