I have a 720p HDTV that I use as a secondary display. Right now I have it hooked up with an S-Video cable and it will only display in 1024x768, which doesn't look the best. What would the best resolution be and how do I get to display it?

There's a lot of variables here (and you might consider asking the guys in Audio/Video) but it may be a limitation of your display--that it will only display that max resolution over s-video. What other connections do you have available on the TV?

Most 720P TVs have a 1366*768 resolution, and usually at least have a VGA port. Newer TVs also have a DVI or HDMI port, and between those ports, and your laptop, you should be able to find something that will work for you

S-video discreetly transmits a 480i signal. The 1024x768 that your video card is set for is being downscaled to 480i. You would need Component, VGA, DVI, or HDMI in order to get the actual native 720p of your television.
