I read some posts on this forum from december 2004. Another person asked about a good hdtv card....There did not seem to be one. Is that true? A good card to me is one that is priced at <=$150 and does not crash your computer. Any coments?

Thanks

I have 2 good HDTV cards, neither crashes my PC and neither are $150 either.

*My MyHD mdp100 is a nice hardware card using the janus chip for playback. Its software is mature, and now has some basic PVR functions as well. Probably won't find it for $150.
*MY HDTV Wonder is very stable in MCE 2005, and has become my favorite HDTV solution. It has very good, advanced PVR functionality when used in MCE 2005, and is seemlessly integrated just like the analog side. You may actually find one of these for $150.

They both depend on a quality signal to work, IMO, thats the key to so many struggles. HDTV Wonder requires a properly configured rig, with somewhat specific hardware, and IMO, MCE 2005 to "fully" enjoy it.

MCE2005...is that an upgrade to window media center...or is this a whole new piece of software?
