HDTV Capture Device

pretty much every thread I searched for HDTV tuner was for ones that can capture HD signals over the air or unencrypted ones over coax line.

but i want to run in a signal from an HD cable box into my pc and watch tv and record if i want to.

any suggestions?

oh and i dont want to hook the cable box right to my monitor because i want to be able to not only watch tv on my whole monitor sometimes, but run it in a small window while i do other things on my pc (24" doublesight monitor here)

That's because you posted four messages in under an hour. 😛

I recall buying my first video capture device, a Dazzle DVC, for almost $300. These days capture devices start at a tenth of that price.

I think this time 'round I won't play "early adoptor."

haha I had that DAzzle smazzle. I will never be an early adopter again, unless i know what im doing or know im getting a bargain.

I have been using 3 Hauppage 150 cards for years. There's Standard Def, but work great. I would think these new ones would be good too. Not that that helps much. Just My 2 cents.
