HDTV + 7800GT

I just got a 7800GT CO ed...which is flippin sweet. Now lets say I buy this TV...

It has component and HDMI. Let's say I want to peridoically hook up my PC to this TV....any chance of hat happening? If so what all could I do on it? Could I hook it up through the s-vid to component unit that came with my card? Or a DVI to HDMI cable? How would this look?

(PS- i get this TV cheap with my employee discount 🙂)

Well, it shows in the specs it has S-video inputs. You should be able to hook up with the VIVO adapter that came with your card.

If your video card came with a breakout cable to output Component, that would probably be your best option since that's an analog (CRT) HDTV. DVI to HDMI would be the next easiest, but I don't have any experience using DVI on analog displays so I can't really say anything about how it'll look. It really should look quite nice either way though. 🙂

pay a tad extra for a dell 2405 fpw, you won't regret it

You can get a sony vega 34" 1080i hdtv for gaming it's around 300 dollars more expensive than a 2405 and u get way better size, and 1ms respond time and way better contrast ratios.

If your card is the BFG, I do believe it has Component out. This would be the only way you could get HD out of your card or DVI.

The TV your getting is only a 26inch TV. If your limited on space, I agree with touchmyichi about the dell 2405 FPW. Its around $750. It would be one awesome monitor and act as a great 24inch widescreen tv.
