I like the Samsung TXM-3096WHF. Its only a 30" 16:9 screen for a $1000 from BestBuy, but you can unlock many of the features of the higher end models in the config PROM. I have the 27" 4:3 version, but they are relatively similar feature wise..., I'll post more if you're interested...

www.avsforum.com is a great place to ask all kinds of questions. Just about every HDTV article I've seen written in the last years has mentioned that site. I'm thinking about getting a plasma TV for my bedroom in the future (1-2 years), maybe a 42" model wouldn't be too extreme?

What model do you have? I know the 32" have 4 models (3296, 3297, 3298, 3281). Anyways, you can try this: Power on the TV, mute, 1, 8, 2, power off, power on and there should be a config menu. I'll have to check that sequence when I get home, because I wrote it inside my remote so I wouldn't forget. But you can enable/disable features in there, as well as tweak tube settings (scan rates for different modes, etc..., but I left mine alone). I think there are a few features that you can't enable (a comb filter comes to mind) because the hardware just isn't there, so it screws up the picture. I'll explain more if you want...

Anyway, let me know if this works for you, and what model you are using.

And I've used AVSForum.com, but I find that they are HT smart, but otherwise tech stupid. I've had good info on TVs and HT components, but talking about hooking my computer up was like yelling into fog, they could hear me, but they were all lost. Good luck though :)

I also really like the Samsung TXM-3096WHF. Have been researching this set over the last few weeks. Now that BB has the TV for $1000.00 with a $100 GC this week i think I may jump on it. Any opinions on the set. I'm not too up on the HDTV scene, just jumping into it myself. Yes i know i do need a seperate decoder for this set.

There *was* at 34" Sony as well. I saw it in Best Buy one time, and then a few times online (Sony Style).
