Does this make any sense? When my access speed is really low, lets say 12.5 to 12.9 ms on my Maxtor HD, then my burst speed is low too like 30 to 45 Mbps. But when my access speed is high a few times, lets say 14 ms to 21ms, then my burst speed is high like 60 to 75 Mbps. So i can have fast burst speed and low access speed but not at the same time That seems strange to me but who knows. All these test on done on windows 2000 pro on my abit kt7a raid mobo. BTW most of the time is low access speed like 12.5 to 12.9 ms and low burst speed but sometimes when i run HDtach i see the access speed go up to 14 to 21 ms and the burst speed is way up there but that doesnt happen as much.
Ok i am going to do 5 HDtach results with my Maxtor 45 gig, 7200 rpm , ATA 100, three 15 gig platters, and < 8.7 ms access time and show you how the results can be so totally different sometimes.

Also these results happen when i use the MS IDE drivers by default in windows 2000 pro , via 4 and 1 drivers , highpoint 1.03b drivers , etc. My HD is connected to IDE 3 btw but its the only HD i have but i still like it this way and i have tried it many times on IDE 1 and it makes no difference in HDtach results. Right now i got my CD-RW on ide 1 , CD-ROM on ide 2 and HD on ide 3 and i like it this way.
