why is there a substantial difference in price and guarantee?

is one better than the other? refurbished?

seagate 7200 ide hard drive eom $112 5 year warranty
seagate 7200 ide hard drive eom, barebone $96.19 3 year warranty

significant difference in money and warranty...
help would be appreciated...

all seagate after (technical term, either sold or manufacture) july/2004 (i think) should be on 5 year warranty..

refurbished are used one that has been fixed.. sometimes they dont carry long warranty, its up to seagate, some places will not tell you the exact warranty of the item
