These are all eide drives...I also have a promise ATA 66 card installed. My question is to you all is...with the following drives how would you configure and please be specific on the master slave thing too.
main Hard drive is Maxtor 20.1 gig 7200rpm ata 66 drive, Samsung 13.5 5400 ata 33, Teac 52spd CDrom, HP 7200 CDRW and finally ZIP 100.
Lately I have been getting CD read problems like "F:\setup.exe is not a valid Win32 application" When just 2 weeks ago this program and many more were running fine...anyway thought I would try to reconfigure the drives because First Aid 2000 is telling me "The CD-Rom drive letter that has been assigned to the CD-ROM drive by the hardware installation wizard must match the drive letter assigned in the Device Manager. To ensure that these match, check Device Manager in the Windows Control Panel." I have checked in the Device Manager and the CD-ROM does show there.

Anyway any help would be appreciated

The CDROM drive is dying. Anyway thats what all my IDE drives did before they died.. except the couple that the tray refused to close all the way on its own, and then wouldn't recognize the disc if you pushed it in.

Ya think that is what is the problem...That is weird because I can still play games that have been installed before this problem started.

Sounds like the CDROM is dying, or it may just need to be cleaned. Make sure all the cables are all the way on the drives too.
