How many pictures and what difference in exposure did you dial in for the end result? I like your example a lot.

HDR IS cool, but unless you're specifically going for a surreal effect, sometimes it's too easy to create a photo that looks too fake. Lots of people tend to overdo the HDR, such as myself :(

Got some shots ready to be put through Photomatix. Can't wait to do them when I get home :)

thats 1 photo, i simply opened the raw in ACR 3 times and did a +/- 2 EV adjustment so i had a -2, 0 and +2 and then used those 3 in photomatrix

and FBB i agree it can eaisily get overdone but for some things its pretty damn cool

I like what the software can do, looking at the samples on their web site.

But I imagine it helps to carry a tripod to get three fairly identical shots.

yea that helps, however there is an "auto align" option when processing images

on a well lit day doing a +/- 2EV bracket wouldent be hard by hand

Damn. I've tried that method on my own and have never gotten satisfactory results. I think it may just be poor choice of the photo I've chosen, though.

i've tried a few time with the exposure bracketing on my camera, but i never got around to processing them :/
