HDR not working in FC?

i go into console and type the \r_hdrrenddering 7 thing but i dont see ANY visual change at all

running patch 1.33, NO AA

7800 GTX

any ideas?

try turning lightning details to high I think that fixes it hell just turn everything to high.

I had those too w/ HDR on on a 6600GT. I think it's heat related. What temperatures are your GPU hitting? HDR seemed to tax my GT like nothing else - something like 5-10C higher than with HDR off...

just ran RTHDRIBL and the card wont even break 70C so i think the temps are fine

This was extrapolated from the Forceware 81.84 release notes:

GeForce 7800 GTX / GeForce 6800 Ultra/ GeForce 6600:

There isintermittent glowing corruption around the edges of the screen in Far
Cry patch 1.33 when HDR is enabled.

This issue is also seen with driver versions 77.77, 78.01, and 78.05. The issue
does not occur with 77.72 drivers.

OMG 70C IS SUPER HOT!!!!!! YOU SHOULD NEVER BE THAT HIGH WITH A 6600GT!!!!! My 6600GT OC'ed to 595/1220 NEVER Goes above 59C!!!!! At stock speeds that is TOO HOT!!!!

its a 7800 GTX, thats not that hot

i tried 77.72 and same problem persists

Do you use Driver Cleaner when you switch drivers? When I get home I'll install Far Cry and download RTHDRIBL again to see how things work out.

Try renaming the FarCry.exe to eg. CryFar.exe.
People have reported that this action stoped the odd behaviour.
