HDR images with free software

I know hdr images are probably old hat for most of you. I'm fairly new to photography and very new to hdr. While looking for a free alternative to Photomatix Pro, I discovered qtpfsgui.

Here is the picture that I have created.

Wow I was just reading about that software yesterday. I like HDR as well but yours is not really the style I'm into. Still, thanks for sharing, it does look like an interesting photo.

How is the software? I have yet to try it.

How many images/exposures did you use?

Thanks for all the reply's. I used 7 exposures to make that image. I'm not completely unhappy or happy with the image. I tried toning down the colors but could only do what you see. I realized the other day I should redo the images in qtpfsgui.

It's not the colors that are bad it's the way you converted from 32 bit->16. This gives you the odd contrast around borders and "halos" around others. I'm not familiar with the programs HDR abilities you listed so I can't help you there. Sorry...
