HDMI vs HDMI extenders on 50 foot run.

I am going to have a 50 foot run.

If i run the HDMI extenders, can i run the cat 5e into a patch panel in the A/V room side to make it look clean?(I read some comment that some guy had issues with hdmi extenders and couldn't get the signal through a patch panel).

I wanted to know if i can run a 50 foot HDMI cable and not have signal loss. Or do i need to install HDMI extenders for this run?

Im seeing that running HDMI extenders would cost me more money and labour, versus just running HDMI cable. I want to run 9 HDMI wires in my house.

I would prefer to run just HDMI cables, but at the moment im not sure what wires to run.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Redmere HDMI cables. They are active cable meaning there is a built in amplifier and they are directional.

Check them out at:

+1 on redmere. I've used a few and they're great.

I don't have any experience with extenders. However, your post made me think of a thread I saw here a little while ago that was a bit alarming (depending on your use).

I really don't know much about extenders so I have no idea how prevalent this problem is. From the last post in the thread, it appears that there are extenders out there that don't have this issue. But finding out about this limitation after you had bought the extender and run the cables in the walls would be a bummer.
