HDMI vs DISPLAYPORT

Hello everyone! I am curious about the detailed specifications of HDMI and DISPLAYPORT. Here are my few questions:

1) Is the HDMI capable of outputting uncompressed video and audio signals like Displayport does?

2) Will there be any difference in input-lag in HDMI and Displayport or else both performs the same?

3) Will Displayport make any slight difference in picture quality in Gaming and HD Audio performance compared to HDMI?

4) I have a monitor with a resolution of '2560x1080' and it's a 'LG 25UB55' monitor with both Displayport and HDMI compatible and of course, it has built-in speakers. I play games and do some video editing stuff. Is HDMI enough for true picture quality experience? Will Displayport make any changes? 😛

Thanks in advance! 🙂

As I understand it, HDMI/DVI/DP video is *always* uncompressed. Audio can be uncompressed or a "bitstreamed" compressed format (getting decoded by whatever device plays the audio). From a PC, it's typically uncompressed PCM S/PDIF.

They are both digital standards: quality is the same and not lost, unless you select chroma subsampling.

DisplayPort is used for high refresh rates: 144 Hz.
