Problem
When I start my computer I can see the post screen on the TV, but as soon as I get to the Windows login screen I get a black screen and the "No signal" message on the TV. I have selected the correct resolution, 1080p for the TV. In safe mode I get picture.

Have tried with only the TV connected, same problem.

Monitors
Asus PA238Q (DisplayPort)
Viewsonic VP191b (DVI)
LG 42LD420 (HDMI)

Hardware

XFX Radeon HD6970
HDMI-HDMI cable

Software
Catalyst 12.6

Sounds like the card is outputting to another device/port.

Do you have other screens attached?

Any better if you startup in safemode?

Looks like the drivers are just bugged.

Uninstalling the AMD drivers and running driver sweeper gets me picture on the TV again.

If I install the AMD Display Driver I lose picture on the TV again.

Is it connected via a separate port on the card or is it split from the same cable?

Are you cloning the screens or extending the desktop?

What refresh rate does the TV accept? What refresh rate is the monitor set to in windows control panel?

Separate HDMI port on the graphics card.

Extending, and have tried with ONLY the TV.

The TV accepts 24hz and 60hz, have tried both.

Unplugged the HDMI cable from the PC and installed Catalyst 12.8.

Started the TV, plugged in the HDMI cable and got picture on the TV. Let's hope it keeps working!
